UK population predicted to rise by nearly 10 million over next 25 years
|
Get used to traffic jams, queues everywhere, shortage of living accommodation and high costs and the continuing erosion in the standards of living for the majority. More people require more resources. How will we pay for welfare, health, pensions? We need to increase share of global markets, achieve growth in GDP, pay debt and have enough working age people with the right skills to make money for this country which will be a large old folks home. Our little island is gonna be like Tokyo before long :-( We're fucked unless we can be selective about who can come here? I mean selective in terms of getting people with skills and the ability to earn. I reckon it might be time to implement a "Logans Run" policy? ;-) which means I've had it.
The UK's population will rise by nearly 10 million over the next 25 years, projections published by the Office for National Statistics show.
The population is expected to increase from an estimated 64.6m in mid-2014 to 74.3m by mid-2039.
Just over half (51%) of this projected rise is due to assumed net migration. Natural increase due to there being more births than deaths account for the remaining 49%.
The UK's population is expected to reach 70m by mid-2027. 51.1m UK population in 1955 64.6m UK population in mid-2014 74.3m projected UK population by mid-2039 51% of increase due to assumed net migration Over the 10 years to mid-2024, the population is predicted to increase by 4.4m to 69m.
The population is projected to continue ageing, with the average age rising from 40 in 2014 to 42.9 by mid-2039.
By mid-2039, more than one in 12 people are predicted to be aged 80 or over.

Alf I'll let you in on a little secret. those figures are based on current climate conditions not changing. We'll be close enough to the 2 degree centigrade increase in temperature by then that there's no way we'll be able to support the current world population and many will simply starve to death, probably enough to remedy overcrowding.

People have been properly shafted. If they had any fucking bollocks at all they'd be full scale riots and revolution in the air. Instead they'll either be watching Mong Factor, hillarious Mongtube videos or updating their staus on Mongbook.

Sir Alf, Seppuku Blatter is Swiss.
If you want an example of the Huns not following the rules why not choose VW.

Not surprised Gavros if that is their policy. Those Germans eh? Trustyworthy, follow the rules types..... like Sepp Blatter ;-)

that's exactly why Germany is allowing SYRIANS into their country and throwing out all the rest, as they know that Syrians generally have high human capital compared to other immigrant waves, who theyre happy for the rest of Europe to deal with. Not so loving and welcoming when you realise this.

Those liberals and lefties still following the Mandelson policy in order to change voting demographics? Its the only way they see of getting in ? That said, many immigrants end up voting fo the Tories :-)
As mentioned below, importing more people is not the long term strategic answer. Vetting and filtering who is allowed in based on their skills, experience and what they can earn for this country is what Australia and the USA do (ok with teh exception of the Mexicans who can walk there without detection) but that seems sensible? Over time you end up with a smaller, more skilled working population that is able to generate a higher GDP ?? So the Education system and investiment in small businesses that innovate is also what is needed. Not blanket based immigration of millions based on some European idealism or bleeding heart thinking. IMHO.

The scots are actively encouraging the continuing immigration invasion of England. Its time for the English to wise up, I reckon.

Stop talking sense. There is no room for common sense when the lefties and liberals are trying to convince us that we must have plenty of immigration!

I said it before but the "we need it because of aging population" argument is short termism that makes no sense to me.
Import immigrants because we have an aging population. Those immigrants plus the native population then all grow old. We are left with an even bigger aging population. This is an even worse position than we started in.
In future years do we import 5 times the amount of immigrants to deal with the even bigger aging population?

In 25 years I will be 68. I am assuming most of this extra 10m will be mainly hot young Eastern European women that will bang my old bones for decent cash.
Sounds alright to me.

Look, the UK is a very specific place in the world.
You really can get a job there and earn money, but the climate is really, really shit. Also you have to be totally fucking mental to understand the culture, let alone like it.
So I believe, if you want all these nasty foreigners out, just give them half the incentive to leave. How about helping to turn Pakistan into a normal country, or Poland into Basingstoke?
Come on, think big chaps!
